Let Love In: Embracing God’s Love and Sharing It with the World

Love is at the heart of the Christian faith. The Bible tells us that “God is love” (1 John 4:8), and as His children, we are called to receive His love and share it with others. Yet, many of us struggle to fully let love in. Fear, past wounds, and self-doubt can create barriers that keep us from experiencing the fullness of God’s love. But God desires for us to open our hearts, embrace His love, and extend it to the world around us.

Receiving God’s Love

The first step in letting love in is accepting the love that God freely gives. Many people wrestle with feelings of unworthiness, believing they must earn God’s love through good works. However, Scripture reassures us that God loves us unconditionally: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). His love is not based on our performance but on His unchanging nature.

To truly receive God’s love, we must surrender our fears and doubts to Him. This means spending time in prayer, reading His Word, and allowing His truth to replace the lies we may believe about ourselves. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). When we accept His love, we begin to experience the peace and joy that come from being fully known and cherished by our Creator.

Healing Through Love

Many people struggle to let love in because of past hurts. Whether from broken relationships, rejection, or disappointment, these wounds can cause us to build walls around our hearts. However, God’s love has the power to heal even the deepest pain. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3).

Healing comes when we trust God to mend what is broken. This may involve forgiving those who have hurt us, seeking support from fellow believers, and allowing the Holy Spirit to minister to our hearts. As we experience His healing, we can extend that same love and grace to others.

Sharing God’s Love with Others

Once we have received and embraced God’s love, we are called to share it. Jesus commanded us to love one another: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (John 13:34).

Sharing God’s love means showing kindness, offering forgiveness, and being a light in the lives of those around us. It means serving others selflessly and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. The world is in desperate need of love, and as followers of Christ, we are His hands and feet, called to reflect His love to a hurting world.

Let Love In Today

If you have struggled to let love in, know that God is inviting you to receive His love today. Open your heart to Him, allow His love to heal you, and step out in faith to share His love with others. When we let love in, we experience the fullness of life that God has designed for us.

May we all embrace the love of Christ, let it transform us, and spread it to a world in need. Amen.
